The School Education Department, in coordination with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is facilitating mandatory biometric updates (MBU) of Aadhaar for eligible school-going students to ensure easy access and compliance with UIDAI guidelines.

In a meeting held with UIDAI Director KM Bharathi on Friday, School Education Director, Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas said the Aadhaar enrolment and MBU services are functional through mobile camps, deployed based on the requirement of each locality.

These school-based Aadhaar centres operate in a mobile mode, moving from one

school to another within the locality to ensure wider coverage and convenience for students and parents.

The Aadhaar enrolment and MBU centres are operated within school premises, enabling students of both government and private schools to conveniently avail the services, he said. Details regarding the location and schedule could be obtained from the DEOs or MEOs of the districts concerned.

All students who enrolled for Aadhaar before attaining the age of five years must mandatorily update their biometrics after completing five years of age, as per UIDAI guidelines.
