Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) is contemplating to postpone the intermediate practical examinations which are scheduled from April 7.

With the State government temporarily closing all educational institutions- government and private- in view of the surge in the Covid-19 cases, the Board has come up with three alternatives for the practical examinations.

The options being looked into including conducting exams from April 7 to 20 as per the earlier announced schedule or re-scheduling them from April 10. The last option being explored by the Board is to hold the practical examinations after the conduct of the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2021 and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main May session i.e. after May 28. These options have been suggested by the Board to the State government.

According to the sources, the practical examinations may be postponed and the State government would take a decision on the same in a couple of days. Sources, however, have made it clear that there was no plan to pass all students without holding practical examinations.

So far, a total of

9,32,337 candidates including 4,58,814 first year and 4,73,523 second-year students have paid the fee for the IPE 2021. Of the total students, 2,62,169 students from the sciences streams and 557 students of Geography have registered for the practical examinations. This apart, 48,026 first-year and 40,287 second-year students of various vocational courses have applied for practical exams.

Meanwhile, first-year students who registered for the IPE 2021 can download their hall tickets from the Board’s website. Intermediate second-year students wishing to appear for the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2021 can download a check slip from the Board’s website and the same can be used for TS EAMCET 2021 registration.

“The check slip which contains hall ticket number of the second-year students can be downloaded from the website. The hall-ticket comes incorporated with all details of students like candidate’s name, parents’ name, date of birth, medium of the exam, subjects etc.,. This hall ticket number can be used for registering for TS EAMCET 2021,” sources said.
