Telangana government has permitted online classes for school students to commence from September 1, 2020 on various digital/TV/T-SAT platforms in the state. These classes would be conducted as part of e-learning and distance education. All teachers would be attending schools regularly from August 27 onwards.

The teachers would prepare e-content, lesson plans and other materials with regard to reopening of schools and commencement of regular classes separate instructions would later be issued as per the guidelines issued by Government of India. Until then, all schools would not be reopened and remain physically closed for students.

In a meeting, the Council of Ministers had previously approved the beginning of admissions and the starting of online classes for all school students said the official statement released. The classes would be broadcasted through digital and television platforms.

“All teachers shall attend schools regularly from August 27 onwards and shall prepare e-content, lesson plans,



etc,” the government notice said. The alternative calendar has been prepared by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, SCERT which would be followed for online classes.

Details operational guidelines would be issued by the Director of School Education, Telangana, the order said. Separate instructions for regular classes would be issued as per the Government of India guidelines as and when reopening of schools is feasible, the government said. The education department informed the students on August 16, 2020, that the inauguration of the online classes which was to be done by the Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy had been postponed.

The circular released by the department read, “ the Department of Intermediate Education, is proposed to begin the digital classes for the intermediate students through Doordarshan and T-SAT from August 17, 2020. The inauguration of Digital classes for intermediate students by the minister of education Sabitha Indra Reddy is postponed because of continuous heavy rain in the state.”
