Five years after it came into force, the State universities, including Osmania University, here on Saturday unanimously resolved to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes from the academic year 2026–27.
The decision was taken during a meeting of vice-chancellors of seven universities convened by TGCHE Chairman Prof V
Balakista Reddy with a view to strengthen academic quality and enable universities to derive greater benefits in accreditation and ranking systems such as NAAC, NIRF, NBA and NCrF.
The implementation is expected to enhance institutional performance in national competitive grants, attract research funding and strengthen the overall academic and research ecosystem of the universities.
