The schools in Telangana have a mandate of achieving students’ attendance of more than 90 percent at any given point of time in the classroom during the academic year 2025-26.
The State government, which released the 2025-26 academic calendar on Monday, instructed all the schools to take necessary action to meet the target.
The schools commencing on June 12 will have a total of 230 working days with April 23, 2026, being the last working day.
As per the academic calendar, the schools have to complete formative assessment – 1 and 2 by July 31 and September 30 respectively. The School Education department scheduled the summative assessment-1 from October 24 to 31, while the
formative assessment 3 must be completed by December 23.
The formative assessment 4 for Class X students must be completed by February 7, 2026, and pre-final exams by February 28, 2026 and SSC Public Exams will be conducted in March 2026.
For Classes I to IX, the formative assessment 4 will be completed by February 28, 2026 followed by summative assessment 2 from April 10 to 18, 2026.
As for short-term vacation, students will get 13 days as Dasara holidays from September 21 to October 3.
The missionary schools will have a Christmas vacation from December 23 to 27 while the other educational institutions will break for Sankranthi vacation from January 11 to 15, 2026.
