Thousands of diploma aspirants across the State are facing anxiety and an uncertain future as the Telangana Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TG POLYCET) 2025 first phase seat allotment has come to a halt due to an administrative delay in approving seats.
The seat allotment, which was initially scheduled for July 4, has not yet been released by the State government.
According to the Technical Education department sources, the delayed seat allotment arose from pending approvals from the State government, which was yet to finalise the number of seats available in various diploma programmes besides institutions. This delay in approvals has left several students and parents in a state of frustration.
As many as 21,316 candidates attended the certificate verification process, and 12,691 exercised web options for
seat and institution allotment in the web counselling conducted from June 26 to July 1. The seat allotment, as per the schedule, was to be done on or before July 4, with payment of the fee and self-reporting through the website between July 4 and 6.
Further, as per the initial schedule, registration for the final phase web counselling can be done on July 9 and 10, certification verification is scheduled for July 11 and web options on July 11 and 12. Provisional seat allotment is on or before July 15, with payment of tuition and self-reporting online on July 15 and 16.
Reporting at the allotted college can be done between July 15 and 17, while the academic session with orientation is scheduled from July 15 to 17 and class work from July 18. This entire schedule is expected to get disrupted due to the delay in the first phase seat allotment.
