The Telangana government is advancing plans to enhance educational opportunities for girls through the Young India Integrated Residential Schools (YIIRC) initiative.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to allocate more schools to girls in the first phase, with a three-year deadline for constructing one YIIRC each for boys and girls in every constituency.

Boys’ schools will be established in the next phase where girls’ schools already exist.

During a review meeting with the Education Department in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister emphasised prompt construction of these residential schools.

He instructed that each school be developed

on at least 1.50 acres of land, citing the need to expand the Bachupally school to meet this standard.

The government is considering a statewide rollout of breakfast and lunch programs in government schools.

The Chief Minister reviewed meal facilities run by NGOs in the Kodangal assembly constituency and asked officials to study implementing such programs across Telangana.

The Education Department has been directed to complete 23 new school buildings in Greater Hyderabad by the next academic year.

Each facility must meet minimum land and infrastructure requirements. Officials are also to explore constructing solar kitchens under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
