Fri 07 Aug 2015, 10:53:45
Hyderabad: The registration for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 began on Thursday. The last date for registering for the test is September 20. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, which would be conducting the test, made changes to the examination. The test would be conducted in two sessions in one day.

The duration of the examination is increased to 180 minutes which was 170 minutes last year. The examination paper would comprise three sections: quantitative aptitude, data interpretation and logical reasoning, verbal and reading comprehension.

While the quantitative and verbal reading comprehension will have 34 questions each, data interpretation and logical reasoning will have 32 questions. The questions in some

sections may not be multiple choice type and instead should be answered directly by typing them on the screen.

Each section will be allotted 60 minutes for answering and candidates cannot switch over from one section to another while answering in a section. For the CAT 2015, the candidates would be allowed to use basic on-screen calculator for computation.

To familiarise with the new pattern, a tutorial would be made available on the CAT website from October 15. The examination would be conducted at 650 test sites in 136 cities on November 29 and results would be announced in the second week of January. The candidates who registered for the test can download ‘admit card’ from October 15 till the exam day.
