Bike taxi aggregator and logistics service provider Rapido has drawn up plans to increase the number of employees in Telangana to 1,000 in two years from the current 400. “The fresh round of hiring will strengthen Rapidos’ rider and driver growth, digital payments, risk and compliance, marketplace, infrastructure, data, safety and finance technology teams,” said Pavan Guntupalli, Rapido Co-Founder.

The company is working with the State government to enhance the employability of local youth. This employment initiative is in line with Rapido and the State government’s vision to make mobility and delivery more accessible, he



said.

“We are aiming to take a lot of initiatives to encourage the startup ecosystem in Telangana. We are happy to see that Rapido is aligned with us on this goal. With the rising opportunities and the desire among the youth to excel in every field, we are positive that this initiative will be well-received,” Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said in a statement.

Founded in 2015, Rapido operates the app-based service across 100 cities in India with more than 15 lakh drivers. The company employs 1,500 employees in all. Rapido does more than five lakh rides daily out of which more than a lakh rides are done in Telangana, a release said.
