Prime Minister Research Chair scheme deadline extended to August 15

Researchers looking to join India’s premier research ecosystem now have additional time to apply for the Prime Minister Research Chair (PMRC) Scheme 2026. The Ministry of Education has extended the application deadline from July 15 to August 15, giving candidates more time to submit proposals and complete formalities.

The scheme



aims to bring accomplished Indian-origin researchers, scientists, technologists and professionals working abroad to leading Indian institutions for high-impact research.

The PMRC Scheme is designed for Indian-origin researchers currently working with reputed overseas universities, laboratories, research institutions or industries.
