Every year on September 5, India pays tribute to its educators by celebrating National Teachers’ Day, a date chosen to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and a renowned teacher. The occasion reflects the country’s respect for teachers who play a key role in shaping generations.
In 2025, the spotlight will fall on 45 teachers who will be honoured with the prestigious National Teachers’ Awards by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi.
These educators represent schools across India, from villages and small towns to
metropolitan cities, and have been recognised for their dedication, innovative practices, and transformative impact on students.
Each award includes a certificate of merit, a silver medal, and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
To facilitate the awardees, the Ministry of Education has arranged accommodation at The Ashok hotel in Diplomatic Enclave, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The arrangements will cover their stay from the afternoon of September 3 to the forenoon of September 6.
A special briefing meeting has also been scheduled for all awardees at 5 pm on September 3 at the hotel.
