Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the attendees of the National Youth Parliament Festival 2021, during which he paid a tribute to Swami Vivekananda, by highlighting his influence on the country after the independence of the country.


On the second annual National Youth Parliament Festival, PM Modi further talked about how Swami Vivekananda has given the citizens of the country the gift to build individuals and institutions, which is rarely talked about.


During his address at the festival, PM Modi said, “Today is an important day as the National Youth Parliament Festival is being held at the Central Hall of the Parliament, which witnessed the framing of our Constitution.”


The Indian prime minister also said during his address that Swami Vivekananda used to say that the youth of the country need to come forward and take responsibility for the development of the nation.

While talking about the



contributions of Swami Vivekananda towards the country, PM Narendra Modi also emphasised the importance of the National Youth Parliament Festival and the slogan of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.

“Inspired by the great ideals of Swami Vivekananda and his vision for youth empowerment, the National Youth Parliament Festival gives a platform to India’s youth to showcase their skills. It also furthers the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ among youngsters,” he posted on Twitter.


During his address, he also said, “What he said about spirituality, what he said about nationalism and nation-building, his thoughts about public service and jagseva flow in our mind temple today with the same intensity.”


National Youth Parliament Festival’s aim is to encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man's point of view, and form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner.
