Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday handed over more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly selected candidates across various government departments, reinforcing the Centre’s push for employment generation and youth-driven growth.
The letters were distributed at the 18th edition of the Rozgar Mela, a recruitment initiative that the Prime Minister said has now become a regular and institutionalised process for filling government vacancies.
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, PM Modi said India is one of the youngest countries in the world and creating employment opportunities for the youth remains a top priority of the government. He noted that jobs are being generated not only domestically but also through increased global engagement.
Referring to India’s growing international partnerships, the Prime Minister said the Union government is entering into trade and mobility agreements with multiple countries, which are opening new
employment avenues for Indian youth abroad. “These agreements are creating multiple opportunities for our young workforce,” he said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted ongoing governance and economic reforms aimed at simplifying systems and boosting growth. “The country has embarked on a reform express, with the goal of making life easier for citizens and doing business easier,” he said.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), over 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued so far through Rozgar Melas held across the country. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to prioritising employment generation and converting policy intent into tangible outcomes.
The latest Rozgar Mela was organised at 45 locations nationwide, with candidates from various states and Union Territories receiving appointment letters. The recruits will join a range of ministries and departments under the Government of India.
