The Department of Communication & Journalism of Osmania University is set to launch J-Hub Journalism Industry Incubation Centre here on Tuesday.  Prof Ghanta Chakrapani, chairperson, Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) would deliver the inaugural address.
According to Prof K Stevenson, Head, Department of Communication & Journalism, Osmania University, J Hub is designed to act as a university-industry interface aimed at imparting practical skills in journalism - print, electronic media and the web and to those aspiring to join the

profession.
It is open to students of any stream in Osmania University and those pursuing journalism in affiliated colleges, he said. The J-Hub initiative stems from the fact that journalism education is falling short of the dynamic needs of the industry due to compulsions of the academic schedule. Imparting practical skills and professional attitude in students is becoming increasingly difficult. The existing linkages with the industry are also yet to gain a firm footing.
The J-hub is expected to plug these lacunae by focusing on on-demand skills training.
