Osmania University is set to host the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Central Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet 2025–26 on the university campus on February 19 and 20. The meeting will be held with a theme ‘Creating AI- and Quantum-Enabled Higher Educational Institutions’.

As many as 120 delegates, including Vice Chancellors and senior academic administrators representing universities from the States of Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, will take part in the two-day event.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, OU Vice Chancellor Prof M Kumar said the meet will focus on strengthening higher education through ethical governance, responsible integration of AI, regulatory and policy reforms, and inter-university



collaboration.

The deliberations and recommendations emerging from the meet are expected to contribute to policy discussions at the national level through the AIU, Prof Kumar said.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will inaugurate the conference, which also has three technical sessions – ethics and transparency in AI-driven higher education, regulatory frameworks and governance reforms, and collaborative leadership and institutional synergy – promoting partnerships, academic networking, and resource sharing among universities.

In addition, a structured business session will provide an opportunity for Vice Chancellors to deliberate on common institutional challenges and formulate constructive recommendations aimed at strengthening higher education systems within the central zone.
