Osmania University has made it to 34th position among the top 75 ranked higher education institutions in the country. The varsity considers this an achievement as there have been 14 new entrants this year.

The 2019 QS India University Rankings was released on October 15, 2018 in Delhi.

Osmania has climbed from 76th position in 2014-15 to 34th. The university has scored maximum points in number of staff with PhDs (university and India median score being 77.5), papers per faculty (university score 6.6
