The National Medical Commission (NMC) has once again revised the NEET UG 2025 seat matrix. The total number of MBBS and BDS seats, previously listed as 1,28,925, has now been corrected to 1,28,875, reflecting a reduction of 50 seats.

For the 2025–26 academic year, 11,350 new seats have been added across medical colleges, including AIIMS and JIPMER, taking the overall count to 1,28,875.

Earlier, the NMC had mistakenly reflected an

increase of 11,400 seats in its updated list, creating a mismatch of 100 seats. The commission clarified that the discrepancy resulted from typographical errors while updating the seat count for Swaminarayan Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Gujarat, and Viraat Ramayan Institute of Medical Sciences (new establishment). The figures have now been fixed.

NMC also noted that around 456 seats were reduced during the 2025–26 renewal process.
