The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notice asking all medical institutions under its purview to observe Anti-Ragging Day on August 12, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to August 18. The directive is in line with the advisory issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on July 22.

According to the

NMC, the observance is part of ongoing efforts to implement the anti-ragging framework laid out by the UGC. “These regulations are mandatory,” the NMC stated in its notice, adding that all higher educational institutions are required to ensure “strict compliance” with the guidelines, including “monitoring mechanisms” outlined in the regulations.
