NEET 2022: Notification likely next week – exam likely to be postponed to July

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2022 notification is expected to be released soon. Candidates interested to in appearing for the medical entrance test would need to register online on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. As per the information, National Testing Agency, NTA is likely to begin the registration for NEET 2022 examination from April 1, 2022. NEET 2022 exam is likely to be postponed to July.

NTA has not yet announced the NEET 2022 exam date. In the last news, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, MoHFW had recommended the last two weeks of June as the suitable time for conducting the examination. There is, however, a likelihood that NEET 2022 exam would be conducted in July and not in June, as expected.

Experts have pointed out that there are already multiple examinations ending in June. Also, with many board exams, including CBSE Board Exams 2022 ending by mid-June, the exam might be delayed.

A few experts have also pointed out that NTA would also be busy with the declaration of JEE Main 2022 result in the month of June. As such, it might not be comfortable for it to conduct NEET as well. Some are also



of the opinion that NEET 2022 might be conducted by mid-July with result declaration expected by or before August 31, 2022.

Sources have also suggested that the authorities are still contemplating on the exam date for NEET 2022. “About 16 lakh students appear for the medical entrance test. There are a few big exams in June, including the CBSE Board Exams as well as a few State Board Exams. Logistics have to be sorted before a date can be shared,” an NTA official commented. No date, however, was divulged at this point.

The officials however did mention that the notification is likely to be released soon and suggested that students keep a check on the official website – neet.nta.nic.in. Interestingly, the counseling and admissions for NEET 2021 have not completed as yet. There are a few who are of the opinion that NEET 2022 notification would release only after NEET 2021 counseling would end. There is, however, no actual update on that.

NTA is also expected to release detailed notice on CUET 2022 on the official website. CUET would be conducted for admission to 45 Central Universities in the country - including Delhi University, AMU, JNU, BHU and so on.
