NCERT releases a new Social Science textbook for Class 9

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released a new Social Science textbook for Class 9, titled Understanding Society: India and Beyond, Social Science Textbook for Grade 9, Part



2.

Announcing the release in a press statement dated September 28, NCERT said the textbook would be available for purchase from September 29, 2026. Students, teachers, parents and scholars can buy the book through the council’s authorised sales channels.
