Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) also rescheduled admission tests on May 10 and 11 for students from Jammu and Kashmir. The university did this to accommodate students who are still having travel issues in the state.
According to the official announcement, a separate special round of tests will be held for the candidates of Jammu and Kashmir only who will not be in a position to appear for the tests scheduled previously.
For the rest of the candidates,
the tests scheduled for May 10 and 11 will proceed as planned.
JMI admission tests started on April 26 and will continue until May 31.
The decision came after the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association had sent a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and JMI Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mazher Asif. They had sought a date change due to unsafe travelling conditions caused by heavy rain and landslides on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
