Jharkhand paper leak protest: CM Soren invites 5-member delegation, aspirants seek time

The Jharkhand government has initiated discussions with students protesting in Ranchi over alleged irregularities in several state recruitment examinations, including those conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL).

On Wednesday, senior district officials reached the protest venue and invited a five-member delegation of students to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residence. The invitation was conveyed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kumar Rajat and Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Dhananjay Kumar as part of the government's effort to resolve the ongoing agitation through dialogue.

Speaking to reporters, SDM Kumar Rajat said the students had requested additional time to discuss the proposal among themselves before responding. Officials remained at the protest site while awaiting the students' decision.

The protesting aspirants stated that any meeting with the Chief Minister should take place exclusively between student



representatives and the government. They requested approximately two hours to deliberate before confirming their participation in the talks.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren reiterated that his government is willing to engage with the students and assured them that their concerns would receive serious consideration.

Addressing the media, he said authorities had already taken action against individuals allegedly involved in recruitment irregularities, with several arrests made and investigations continuing through raids at multiple locations.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the administration remains committed to ensuring accountability and expressed confidence that ongoing investigations would lead to a meaningful resolution. He also noted that while he had not yet spoken with the Union Home Minister on the matter, he would do so if necessary.

"The government's doors are open to everyone. Those with concerns are welcome to present them, and their demands will be examined carefully," Soren said.
