The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK has partnered with the International Consultants for Education and Fairs (ICEF), one of the global leaders in international education services.

According to NISAU UK, the alliance is designed to bring greater transparency, accountability, and ethical practices into the student recruitment process right from the first counselling interaction to the time a student graduates.

With over a million Indians heading abroad for education each year, and most depending on agents for guidance, the need for reliable and responsible information has never been more critical. ICEF CEO Markus Badde said that international students “deserve clarity, transparency and support they can rely on,” adding that the new collaboration merges ICEF’s global expertise with NISAU’s strong student advocacy.

NISAU UK Founder and Chair Sanam Arora said the move reinforces the need for consistent, trustworthy support for students navigating shifting immigration rules and policy changes across major study destinations. “This partnership puts students at the heart of recruitment systems,” she noted, adding that ICEF’s quality-driven approach aligns with NISAU’s mission to protect students from misleading or exploitative advice.

The organisations also hope the collaboration will counter unethical practices among certain agents operating in India, particularly at a time when Indian students are increasingly vulnerable to misinformation.

Earlier this year, NISAU UK announced the world’s first student-focused ‘Agent of the Year’ award, a recognition aimed at celebrating agencies that champion transparency and genuine student welfare.
