Indian team gets two gold and four silver medals at the 67th edition of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), held in Shanghai, China. Competing against 666 students from 117 countries – the largest participation in the history of the Olympiad – India finished with an unofficial global rank of seventh, marking its fourth consecutive top-10 finish at the world's premier mathematics



competition.

The Indian contingent's gold medal winners are Aarav Gupta from Delhi and Abel George Mathew from Karnataka. The four silver medals were won by Bairav Murugan (Karnataka), Kanav Talwar (Delhi), Sanjana Philo Chacko (Kerala), and Shreya Shantanu Mundhada (Mumbai). The closing ceremony of IMO 2026 is scheduled to take place today, July 21, following which the official medal presentation will conclude the competition.
