IIT Delhi, the organising institute of JEE Advanced, has clarified in a press release that the media reports claiming there were no JEE Advanced exam centres in Kashmir were false. It stated that a sufficient number of exam centres had been set up in Kashmir to accommodate all the candidates for JEE Advanced which is scheduled to be held across India on September 27.

JEE Main was held from September 1 to 6 all across India and the results were declared on September 11. The top 2.5 lakh students who cleared JEE Main will be able to appear for JEE Advanced to get

admission to the IITs.

The statement from IIT Delhi clarified that “the number of cities with exam centres have been increased from 164 last year to 222 this year to facilitate the candidates across the nation and reduce their travel distance and time.”

Among several new cities added this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic are Srinagar in J&K and Kota in Rajasthan.

The total number of exam centres has been increased from around 600 last year to around 1150 this year. Each exam city may have multiple exam centres.
