The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started a new Course-wise Registration Certification Scheme (CRCS). This will allow the students to opt for a course of their choice without choosing the entire programme where it falls in. The scheme doesn't have an upper limit so students can register in as many courses as they wish to, “subject to a maximum of 16 credits”.

With this scheme, students can also transfer their credits by taking admission in any programme. Candidates can register for the scheme at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. The eligibility

criterion will be the same as the programme in which that course would be a part of. Students cannot change the course after selecting.

Except for courses offered under Research Degree Programmes and Awareness, Appreciation level Programmes, students can register under CRCS for all courses

Courses offered in combination will have to be taken together by the student.

The minimum would be six months, while the maximum period allowed for completion of the course registered will be between two years. The academic requirements as prescribed by IGNOU should be fulfilled.
