The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has deferred the CA examinations scheduled for September 9 and 10 at its Kathmandu centre due to the ongoing unrest in Nepal. The affected papers include CA Intermediate Group 1, Paper 1 and CA Final Group 1, Paper 1. The institute has clarified that these postponements apply only to Kathmandu, while exams across all other centres in India and abroad are being conducted as

planned.

In its statement, ICAI said fresh dates for the postponed exams will be announced once conditions stabilise.

The ICAI President emphasised that such decisions are always guided by safety and feasibility on the ground. “Wherever disturbances occur, we defer the exam. As soon as the atmosphere is peaceful, we aim to conduct it within the earliest possible timeframe,” he noted.
