Girls top DOST 2026 rankings, secure majority degree seats in first phase

Girls dominated the rankings securing a majority of seats in the first-phase Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) 2026 seat allotment. While overall 56,147 seats were allotted, 36,302 seats (65 percent) were secured by girls.

As per the first-phase seat allotment released on Thursday, 16 out 20 faculty-wise toppers were girls. Except for commerce and management-wise faculty, girls have topped in their respective streams.

As many as 3,60,709 seats in 409 courses offered by 777 colleges were up for grabs in the first phase. For these seats, 84,610 students sought admission, 61,543 exercised web options and 56,147 candidates were allotted.

Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE ) Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy said 36,634 students received their seat allotment against the first priority and 19,513 candidates got against second and other priorities.



As many as 5,396 students failed to get seat allotment as they could not exercise the required number of web options.

Students? registration and seat allotment have come down in the first phase of admission compared to last year when 89,572 candidates registered and 60,436 were assigned seats.

Candidates who have secured a seat have to self-report online between May 15 and 23, and pay Rs. 500 or Rs. 1,000 via DOST candidate login. Failure to reserve a seat will result in forfeiture of the seat and cancellation of registration on DOST.

Second-phase registrations and web options are scheduled from May 15 to 25, with seat allotment scheduled for May 30. Students were advised to report at respective colleges after third phase allotments. Failure to report at the college between June 20 and 27 will result in the forfeiture of the allotted or self-reported seat.
