Gandhi Jayanti 2020: Jamia Millia Islamia organise series of events to mark 151st Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) has planned a number of events to celebrate 151st Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Office, NCC and NSS units of the university are organising/coordinating these programs.

DSW Office, JMI has organised a Fit India Freedom Run which started at 10 am from Dr. MA Ansari Auditorium, Gate No. 13 of the university. Students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the university participated in it. A tree



plantation drive was organised at 11am on the university campus. A.P. Siddiqui(IPS), Registrar, JMI is the Chief Guest of the program and Prof. Waseem Khan, Chief Proctor, JMI is the Guest of Honour.

In the second half of the day Vimal Bhai, Convenor of National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) will deliver an online lecture at 3 pm on ‘Relevance of Gandhi in Contemporary India’. The lecture will be organised on Zoom and can be joined with the Meeting Id.
