The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notification outlining the complete assessment structure for the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, including a detailed breakup of theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components for every subject.

With the exam season approaching, the board has urged schools and students to carefully review the updated marking scheme to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.

In its circular issued on Tuesday, the board announced that practical examinations, project evaluations, and internal assessments for both Classes 10 and 12 will be held between January 1 and February 14,

2026.

CBSE has also stressed strict compliance from schools while uploading marks, noting that frequent errors have been observed in previous years. Schools have been advised to exercise caution, as the board will not entertain correction requests made later with "various excuses."

With the 2026 board exams approaching, the latest CBSE circular provides students and schools with greater clarity and early visibility into the assessment process.

The board's detailed subject-wise breakdown and renewed focus on error-free mark submission aim to ensure a smooth, transparent, and well-coordinated examination cycle in the upcoming academic year.
