West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has announced today that all educational institutes in the state will remain closed till July 31 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has surrounded the nation. This applies to all state-run and state-aided schools, colleges and universities in West Bengal.

Earlier, it was announced that the educational institutes in West Bengal will remain closed till June 30, but considering the situation in the state and

the rapid spread of coronavirus in the country, the date was further extended till July 31.

As per IANS reports, Partha Chatterjee said, “It is just that the regular classes will now remain suspended July 31, instead of June 30.” He further added the administrative section of educational institutes will keep functioning.

The decision to reopen schools and colleges will be taken in July as per the directions of the respective state government.
