The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to reopen the schools for elementary classes i.e. for students of classes 1 to 5 from February 1, as per the official statement. The schools in the state have been shut down since March 2020 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.


The state government had recently issued an official statement which said, “Andhra Pradesh government has accorded permission for reopening of Classes 1 to 5 from February 1.” Physical classes will resume for these students after 10 months.


The education department of Andhra Pradesh has also issued guidelines regarding the reopening of schools for the safety of the students amid the pandemic. The government has also said that the schools will function full day for the elementary classes.


The schools in the state



were conducting online lessons through digital platforms for all the classes.


The official statement regarding the reopening of schools in the state also said, “Students may attend the classes only with the written consent of parent or guardian.” The statement further said that the students have to follow the Covid-19 guidelines strictly.


The government also said that all students, teaching and non-teaching staff have to wear a mask on the school premises at all times. As per the official guidelines, each section of the class should only have 20 students to maintain social distancing.


"In case of more number of students, classes should be conducted on alternative days. Hand washing, social distancing, and other Covid-19 guidelines must adhere," the statement said, as per PTI inputs.
