The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that candidates would now be allowed to make corrections to their online application forms for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2024. This update came in response to the demand by candidates to modify certain particulars in their applications. The opportunity to do so will be open from April 6 to April 8, 2024, until 11:50 pm.

This directive builds on NTA's commitment to ensuring accuracy and fairness in application procedures. As outlined in Annexure 1 of the public notice, the changes are subject to specific terms. However, candidates should be informed that any modification might result in an increase in the application fee, especially if there are revisions in the category or Person With Benchmark Disability (PWBD) status, as these factors influence the fee amount. Noteworthy is the clause that surplus fees resulting from corrections will not be refunded.

In addition, the NTA also emphasised that this is a one-time correction facility. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to carefully review

and confirm their particulars as no further alterations will be entertained after this period. This measure underscores the importance of accuracy and completeness in submitting initial applications.

In light of these amendments, there are guidelines specifying fields in the form that are not subject to alteration. Candidates will not be permitted to change contact details including mobile numbers, email addresses, residential status, and emergency contacts. Still, they will have the leeway to modify other aspects of their application. These include details like the candidate's name, parents' names, Class 10 and 12 details, date of birth, gender, category, PwBD status, and image uploads for photographs and signatures.

The revisions also extend to choosing the examination city, exam medium, along with amending the choice of subject, university, programme, or course. However, these changes are also bound by the designated correction window. This development sets a precedent for flexibility and responsiveness to candidates' needs in application procedures.
