Amidst a cold wave-like situation in Jharkhand, all government and private schools in the state are set to remain closed from December 26 to 31, as announced in an official notification. The decision comes in response to the minimum temperature ranging between 7 and 11 degrees Celsius, with some areas recording even lower temperatures. Garhwa witnessed the state's lowest temperature at 6.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Daltonganj at 7.9 degrees Celsius.

The capital city, Ranchi, reported a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, while other regions like Ramgarh, Bokaro, Chaibasa, and

Jamshedpur recorded temperatures ranging from 8.5 to 10.7 degrees Celsius.

The notification issued by the school education and literacy department stated, "In view of the increasing effect of the cold wave in the state, all categories of government, non-government aided/unaided, including minority schools, and all private schools running in the state will remain closed from December 26 to December 31."

The notice also added that, considering the upcoming secondary and higher secondary board examinations, schools may conduct classes for students in grades 10 to 12 as deemed necessary.
