Under the Centre’s newly launched ‘Agnipath’ scheme, examination for recruitment of the first batch of Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel was held in UP's Kanpur on Sunday amid tight police security.

About 2.5 lakh candidates will be appearing in the recruitment examination in the city to be held from July 24 to July 31 across the country.

A total of 11 centres have been assigned for the Agniveer exam, out of which six are in Kanpur Outer. Every day 1875 candidates will take the



examinations in three shifts at each centre.

Meanwhile, along with the deployment of police personnel, Air Force personnel have also been deployed in all the examination centres.

“Examination is being conducted peacefully with the help of Airforce, Security is deployed everywhere and things are very normal,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Brijesh Shrivastava told India Today.

Meanwhile, all the centres have also been placed under strict CCTV and drone observation.
