Delhi schools reopen today for students from Class 9 to Class 12. The schools in Delhi were closed after the increase in Covid-19 cases in December.

As schools reopened from Classes 9 to 12 reopened in Delhi today, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia met and interacted with students at Delhi's Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya.

The deputy chief minister said, "We are happy the schools reopened. Online classes are just alternatives. We were eagerly waiting for classes to resume online."

He then added, "I spoke to students today, they are also of the opinion that classes are better in schools offline. The



one-to-one interaction of teachers and students is necessary for better education."

He went on to say that more than 95 percent of students studying in government schools are vaccinated with the first dose, whereas the number is approximately 50 percent of students studying in private schools.

He added that no criteria have been set, that says only vaccinated students will be allowed to enter schools but teachers do need to be vaccinated.

"The whole generation's education is affected due to Covid. I hope the students will be able to recover the learning loss due to Covid restrictions," the deputy chief minister remarked further.
