Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21.
The meeting brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Education, representatives of state governments, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and higher education institutions to assess the readiness of the examination system ahead of the re-test.
During the review, Pradhan emphasised the need to maintain transparency, integrity and efficiency throughout the examination process. He directed all stakeholders to work in close coordination and ensure that arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the examination.
According to the Ministry, discussions focused on operational preparedness and the measures being implemented at examination centres across the country. Officials reviewed security arrangements, coordination mechanisms and logistical
preparations required for conducting the examination.
Among those present at the meeting were School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi and NTA Director General Abhishek Singh.
The review comes just days before the NEET UG re-examination, which is scheduled to be conducted at designated centres on June 21. Authorities have been working to strengthen examination procedures and ensure that the test is conducted in a fair and orderly manner.
The Ministry said all agencies involved have been asked to remain vigilant and ensure that candidates are able to appear for the examination without disruption.
The NEET UG examination is the gateway to undergraduate medical courses across the country and is taken by lakhs of aspirants every year. With the re-examination approaching, the government has stepped up its monitoring of preparations to ensure a secure and transparent process.
