Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged students of Osmania University not to fall into the trap of political parties and instead focus on their education and personal growth.

Speaking at a university programme, he said students must build strong careers and also cultivate leadership qualities that can help them “grow as good leaders to rule the state."

The Chief Minister said he had come to the university “with a heart full of admiration” and reaffirmed that the government was honouring its promise to allocate Rs 1000 crore for the development of Osmania University.

He said the aim was to transform it into a world-class institution with modern infrastructure and improved academic facilities.

Responding to remarks about his educational background, the CM said he studied in a government school and understood the challenges faced by poorer sections.

He stressed that “expertise in the English language does not mean possessing knowledge”, calling English only a communication tool.

He asserted that the government was

committed to providing “freedom, social justice, and equal opportunities”, and vowed to “rescue Telangana from the evil forces”.

He added that his government’s two-year performance included declaring the Telangana song, installing the Telangana Talli statue, implementing SC categorisation, and conducting the caste census.

Revanth Reddy highlighted reforms such as integrated residential schools to eliminate caste discrimination and the establishment of Young India Skills University, chaired by industrialist Anand Mahindra, to enhance youth skills.

The Young India Sports University has also been set up with a long-term goal of preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics.

A committee has already been formed for appointing teaching and non-teaching staff in Osmania University. The CM instructed officials to ensure a transparent recruitment process with “no political obligation”, saying no one has the right to “spoil the future of children”.

He affirmed that Osmania University is the heart of Telangana and deserves a fair system that shapes students’ futures.
