The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has cancelled the Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) board exams for all centres in the UAE due to security concerns linked to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The decision affects thousands of Indian students studying in CISCE-affiliated schools across the country.
The exams had earlier been postponed, but the council has now confirmed that they will not be conducted in the UAE this year after reviewing the evolving situation in the region.
In a circular sent to schools, CISCE said the decision
followed consultations with key authorities, including Dubai’s education regulator, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), and the Consulate General of India in Dubai.
After assessing the security environment and the feasibility of conducting large examinations, the council decided to cancel the ICSE and ISC exams scheduled for UAE centres.
The tests had previously been postponed and were expected to be held between March 2 and April 6, 2026.
Officials said the move was taken as a precautionary step to ensure the safety of students and staff.
