Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam has now been postponed to January 31, 2021, due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The announcement has been made by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Further, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal also tweeted confirming the new dates for CTET exam. Earlier, the CTET was scheduled to be conducted in the month of July.

Every year CTET is held twice, first in the month of July and second in December. Apart from Class 10, 12 board exams, CBSE Board conducts CTET exam, which is a recruitment test.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the CBSE has given an options to the candidates to choose an exam centre location as



per their ease. Candidates can change the location of exam from November 07 to November 16.

"Every effort will be made to accommodate candidates in the cities opted by them but if the situation arises, they can be allotted any city other than the four cities opted by them," CBSE has said.

As many as 135 cities will be organising the exam while maintaining social distancing.

The new exam cities are Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Begusarai, Gopalganj, Purnia, Rohtas, Saharsa, Saran, Bhilai/ Durg, Bilaspur, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Ludhiana, Ambedkar Nagar, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Gonda, Mainpuri, Pratapgarh, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur and Udham Singh Nagar.
