The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday extended the deadline for submission of applications for verification of marks and re-evaluation of answers for Class 12 board examinations till June 7. The facility is available for candidates who have opted to receive scanned copies of their answer scripts.

As per the revised schedule, the last date for submitting applications, which was earlier June 6 (midnight), has now been extended to June 7 (midnight). The extension has been granted “in the interest of students” to provide additional time and ease in completing the application process.

The extension comes amid an ongoing investigation into coordinated cyberattacks targeting CBSE’s Post-Result Services Portal, which

is used by hundreds of thousands of students across the country for verification and re-evaluation applications.

The portal was activated at approximately 4.30 am on June 2, only after the completion of all security checks, the board said, following concerns raised by several students on social media regarding issues with the Online Student Management (OSM) system.

Reports of blurred answer sheet images and missing pages have triggered anxiety among students awaiting verification and re-evaluation results.

Earlier in the day, CBSE said that within two minutes of the portal going live, the platform recorded nearly 1.5 million access requests and blocked over 100,000 unauthorised attempts during the same period.
