The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked its affiliated schools to make active use of PM eVidya’s CBSE Channel 15 to support classroom instruction and enhance student learning outcomes. The directive was issued through a circular dated January 7, 2026.
As part of the PM eVidya programme, CBSE has been assigned Channel 15 on the DTH platform, which currently features 67 curated educational videos. These resources cater primarily to students of Classes 9 to 11 and also include content aimed at strengthening teachers’ pedagogical skills.
Launched in 2024, the PM eVidya initiative offers academic support through 200 dedicated television channels.
The content available on CBSE Channel 15 spans core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and Social
Science, along with modules on experiential learning, storytelling as a teaching tool, assessment techniques, cyber safety, and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
CBSE said the initiative is intended to bridge learning gaps by ensuring access to quality educational materials for students across regions, regardless of socio-economic background. With repeated broadcasts and on-demand access through YouTube, students can learn at their own pace, while teachers can integrate the videos into lesson planning and classroom activities.
The Board noted that the e-videos have been developed by subject experts and adhere to national standards for educational television programming. To widen reach, all content is also available on the CBSE TV Channel on YouTube.
