The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened a new channel for student participation by asking schools to nominate candidates from Classes 9 to 12 for its official podcasts and social media programmes. The move is part of the Board’s plan to make its content closer to the classroom experience and ensure that students themselves become contributors to the conversation.

For some years, CBSE has been producing in-house podcasts on academic, career and counselling matters. These are already available on platforms such as YouTube.

The Board now intends to widen the scope by including student voices. The idea is to allow pupils to take part through short audio and video

clips, testimonials and direct conversations that will be broadcast on CBSE’s digital platforms.

Schools have been instructed to identify students who are articulate, confident and willing to contribute.

The nominations have to be supported by written consent from both the students and their parents or guardians. This consent must be routed through the school before it is shared with CBSE.

In its circular, the Board explained that participation is voluntary and no student will be compelled to join. The profiles of the nominated students, along with their details, must be submitted by schools through a Google Form within ten days of the circular’s release.
