The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued an advisory to all CBSE-affiliated schools, cautioning them against counterfeit and fake NCERT textbooks sold at discounted rates in the market.

In a notice to principals and school heads, the Board said that it has been brought to its notice that spurious copies of NCERT books are being sold by unofficial sellers.

As per CBSE, such fake textbooks often have

printing errors and mistakes relating to content, which affects the learning aspect for students.

Schools have been advised to help parents procure only genuine NCERT books from authorised sources.

CBSE further added that in case of procurement of NCERT textbooks on behalf of its students by a school, such a procurement would have to be strictly from sources authorised by NCERT and notified from time to time.
