The Intermediate Education department is set to roll out breakfast and mid-day meal schemes for the government junior college students on June 12.

The breakfast and meals will be provided to students via the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is providing mid-day meals to government and local body schools in the State.

Every student will be given milk on three days a week and ragi malt on the remaining three days as part of the breakfast scheme. The mid-day meal menu has not been finalised. However, the lunch might



include khichdi, mixed vegetable curry, rice, sambar and mixed vegetable curry, rice, green leafy vegetable dal, vegetable biryani and mixed vegetable curry.

“We have proposed breakfast and a mid-day meal for two lakh students in 430 government junior colleges. The mid-day meal serving has been entrusted to Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is expanding its operations with new kitchens across the State. The scheme will be launched by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on June 12,” Intermediate Education department director, S Krishna Aditya said.
