A new study from a London-based university shows a clear shift in how Indian students view overseas education. The research, commissioned by City St George’s, University of London and conducted by Arlington Research, highlights that 97 per cent of Indian students want education that leads directly to careers.
They say employability, work experience and real-world skills are central to their decision on where to study abroad.
The report, titled Value of Studying Abroad, shows that Indian students now look beyond lectures and
theory.
They expect education to prepare them for work from day one.
The study says Indian learners were the most likely among all surveyed countries to value applied learning, technical skills and professional behaviour as key parts of their education.
Globally, 56 per cent of students ranked employability among their top three decision factors.
This number rises to 87 per cent when looking at the overall priority list. But Indian students score even higher, showing a sharper focus on job-ready outcomes.
