Jamia Millia Islamia celebrated the 74th Independence Day following Covid-19 guidelines inside the campus and maintaining social distancing. The teaching and non-teaching staff along with a few students from Jamia Senior Secondary School assembled for celebrations at the lawns of Dr M.A.Ansari Auditorium.

The National Flag was unfurled, while the National Anthem was sung by the gathering at 9 am. A small cultural programme was also held where students sang patriotic songs and gave speeches. The principal of the Jamia Senior Secondary School Dr. Atiqurrehman welcomed all the guests.

wore a festive look with balloons, tricolours, and flowers.

Everything was managed following Covid-19 guidelines.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar and Registrar AP. Siddiqui (IPS) congratulated everyone for the Independence Day.

Prof. Najma Akhtar said that the Independence was achieved through great sacrifices made by the great sons and daughters of the country, particularly Mahatma Gandhi. JMI was born in the lap of the non-cooperation movement and its founders struggled hard for the Independence of the country and let us re-dedicated ourselves to the service of our beloved nation.
