Youth murdered in honor killing in Jagtial, Telangana State

Jagtial: In a suspected honor killing incident, a dalit youth was murdered by the family members of his lover in Velgatoor mandal.

A resident of Kishanraopet of Velgatoor mandal, Challuri Mallesh was reportedly in love with a woman from the same village. She belonged to the BC community.

As he failed to change his attitude even after repeated warnings, the woman’s father lodged a complaint with the police sometime ago.

Knowing that family members of the woman are trying



to fix her marriage with another person, Mallesh on Thursday went to her home and quarrelled with her parents.

Enraged over the incident, the woman’s father and uncle waylaid the deceased at Peddavagu bridge and took him behind an old wine shop located on Kotilinga road.

They allegedly killed him by attacking with knives. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s father Rajaiah, police registered the case and began investigation.
