Woman gang-raped in Vanasthalipuram,Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by five men at Vanasthalipuram. The woman was said to have been in inebriated condition when she was sexually violated. Though the incident occurred on Saturday, it came to light on Monday morning only after the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.

According to Vanasthalipuram police, the woman who is a divorcee, works for a private insurance firm and stays with her child. She became friends with one Manoj Kumar three months ago and both were talking to each other since then. Last Saturday, Manoj Kumar who was partying



with his friends called the victim to his room. She went there and they all got themselves drunk.

 

“They got her drunk too and while she was in an inebriated condition, they raped her,” police said adding that it was only after the victim regained consciousness that she realized what happened.

She lodged a complaint in the wee hours of Monday. Based on her complaint, the Vanasthalipuram police booked a case of gang rape and are investigating. Efforts are on to nab the suspects who are still absconding, officials said.
