Tragedy struck Chhattisgarh's Bemetara district when a collision between a goods vehicle and a truck claimed the lives of eight individuals, including five women and three children, while leaving 23 others injured. The incident occurred on Sunday night as the victims were returning from a family function in the goods vehicle, according to the police.


Identified by PTI, the eight victims tragically lost in the collision are Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu



(55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), along with three young souls - Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6).

Meanwhile, the 23 injured individuals have been promptly admitted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care. Among them, four critically injured have been swiftly transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur, as confirmed by the police.
